Sebastien Thill: «Competition spurs and develops me»
Luxembourg midfielder Sébastien Thill has joined the first team's training process. In the first interview after the transition, Sebastien spoke about himself, about his decision to move to Sheriff, and how he is ready to compete in our team.
- Sebastien, how is your adaptation here and how was your first training session?
- I'm glad to be here, because “Sheriff” is the most titled club in Moldova, plus the team is a constant participant in European competitions. Before signing the contract, I knew something about the Tiraspol team, I knew about the results in the European competition. I watched the game with "Foul", plus our teams played against each other. "Sheriff" always strives for the championship and for high results in European competitions, our aspirations with the club coincide, it remains only to work hard in this direction. Looking at such luxurious conditions of the sports complex, I believe that the goals for the club are high. As for training, I was just running. Of course, there are workouts that are more interesting, but now it is important to get the necessary form. You need to start with the smallest, and ascending to get in condition for the official games.
- Tell us a little about yourself and your football family.
- Yes, I have an unusual family. Grandfather and grandmother are football players, mother and father also played football, now the brothers also show themselves in this sport. There were no options with the choice of profession, because I spent all my childhood training my parents. Although my father never forced me to do this and always provided me with the freedom to choose a profession. I just fell in love with this game myself and decided to connect my whole life with it. My girlfriend is a basketball player, but this does not mean that our children will be athletes. I think it is right to provide freedom of choice in early childhood, if children are drawn to something, it is wrong to prohibit it.
- How true is it that you want to play with your brothers at the same time in the same game for the national team? It's true?
- Yes, that's how it is. I would like to play for Luxembourg with my brothers, in the same lineup. As far as I remember, this happened only once in world football. It's complicated. It happens that I play without them, it happens that they are without me. It is difficult to be in the same condition for the game for the national team, sometimes one of us is disqualified due to too many yellow cards.
- Are you ready to compete in our club?
- I'm not afraid of that. It's good when there is competition. It spurs and develops me. If there is no competition in the team, the player degrades professionally, not only in official games, but also in training.
