Amin Talal: "I came to reach new heights with FC Sheriff"
Moroccan midfielder Amin Talal in his first interview as a player of our club commented on his transfer, remembered his childhood and talked about psychology.
- Amin, tell us a little about your childhood.
- I was born in Casablanca. As you know, Morocco is a football country. Therefore, like all boys, I spent whole days on the sports ground, playing football. My father was a coach. In other words, football has been in our house since childhood. There was football on the street, at home there were conversations and discussions on the topic of football. Football has been an integral part of our life.
- Then it’s clear how you became a professional football player ...
- I was enrolled in a football school at the age of 6. That's when my journey in football began. At first it was for fun, but a little later the coach told my parents that they should pay attention to my abilities. They say I stood out from the rest of the kids.
- How did it happen that you moved from Morocco to France?
- I made this decision after graduation. The decision to move to France was easy, despite the fact that in Morocco I had the opportunity to play for my academy team but I still decided to leave my native country in order to expand my horizons.
- Was it a transfer to a football club?
- No. In France, I entered the university first. I decided for myself if there is a club nearby, I can train there. And so it happened. Nearby was FC Orleans. I met a man who knew the coach of this team. I was introduced to him. Thus, I began to train and play for this team.
- Why did you choose FC Sheriff, because you probably had other options?
- Well, it's just obvious. In 2021, Sheriff was on the buzz. It performed superbly and got into the group stage of the Champions League. There it beat Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. Many people in Europe were talking about the club then.
- In other words, did you pack your suitcase quickly?
- Yes, I have already set goals for myself. I want to help the club with my game to achieve good results this year, both in the Moldavian Championship and in the Conference League, and in the summer to get into the group stage of the Champions League.
- The team of FC Sheriff is quite multinational. How were you met or maybe you already managed to make friends with someone?
- Yes, I have already met the guys. Especially with those who speak French. Before my arrival, I knew a little Steve Ambri and Abou Ouattara, they played in the French championship.
- The Conference League match with the Serbian Partizan is coming. Everyone knows that they have very powerful "ultras". Tell me, how do you overcome moments when there is a lot of pressure from the stands, what do you think about at that moment?
- For me, this is not a problem - when I played in France, and in Morocco, there are stadiums and 50 thousand each. Half of them support the opposing team. Used to. Therefore, I have no problem overcoming emotions. It's easier for me to play in a full stadium than in a half-empty one.
