FC Sheriff head coach Zoran Zekic commented on the match with Zimbru:

 

- I congratulate the team on their victory and FC Zimbru on a good game. To be honest - Sheriff today has not deserved the victory. If there was anything  in the game in the first half, it was lost in the second half, only Zimbru played. This, of course, is football. Sometimes it's better not to play. You have to forget this game. Most important is that we got three points. We will solve other issues in the dressing room.

 

- Was it so hard today?

- Of course, it’s difficult like that - you play in defense, in the holding area, how we played today. Every time we lost the ball, we had no reaction, we stood very wide, did not defend ourselves, did not help, including on the flanks. I have already said that there are many problems, but the most important thing is that we got three points.

 

- Have you substituted Tambe in the hope of keeping the score?

- No, we did not want to save the score 1: 0. There were issues that needed to be solved in the dressing room. Substituted him, based on the fact that we made a lot of mistakes in defense. I was not satisfied with the movement, I was not satisfied with how he clutched at the ball, how he played in defense. Not just him. There were many football players who were not in a condition that they should be in.

 

- How will you solve the problem with the psychological state of the team at the finish of the Championship? The title of the champion is close and it is clear that the players feel this?

- This is a big question and a big problem. But the biggest question is what we are talking about this. Oh, we feel it in the last month. But you must have respect for the Championship, you must have respect for the owner of the club, so that there is respect for the supporters and coaches. We have everything, they get salaries on time. It is unfortunate that we need to talk about this.

 

- Why did Ribeiro not fit into the game. Today he appeared both in the center and on the flanks, looking for zones, but his partners did not always notice him. Maybe he didn’t try very hard ...

- I have already mentioned. There were a lot of problems. I can’t say that only one player was bad. This is a team game and everything is connected with a friend and partner. If there is no pass, then you will easily lose your position, lose your partner and you get a game like today.

 

- Maybe not quite the right question. The team has many legionnaires. Aren't they too many? Maybe, because of this something is happening in the team?

- You can consider this also. I do not solve these issues, but Sheriff strives to play well in Europe, so the legionnaires come to strengthen the team. Unfortunately, it is clear that there are several football players who cannot strengthen the Sheriff, even in the Championship of Moldova. We need to think it over calmly and make a decision at the end of the year.
