The yellow-black mentor Zoran Zekic shared his thoughts on the upcoming first game of the third qualifying round with AIK:
- Tomorrow we need to play our football, I hope we will show our best, we will look stronger. After two home games in European competition, we had some questions about the game. I would like to work with ready-made players, but our situation is completely different. Again, we got a few newcomers, and given the fact that some players are injured, others with yellow cards. At the same time, we are not discouraged and will fight. The opponent is strong, we made an analysis of its game. The team is equipped with very good football players. Our players know how to act and I really want them not to have some shyness and uncertainty tomorrow.
- You talked about some questions for the players. What is this about?
- I will not, first of all, lie to myself that we played well the last game with Partizani. We did not demonstrate the football that was away in Tirana. Newcomers are not quite ready to prove themselves right away. This leads to tactical and other mistakes. I want my team to play stronger and better tomorrow. I would like to show everything that was played during the preparation.
- Is any psychological work being done to complete the dangerous moments, taking into account the last home game?
- Of course, we are working in this direction. We had several points that could immediately decide the outcome of the match in our favor. After all, if the psychology of the players is lame, the quality of the game also disappears. In the holding zone, we were not good. This was shown by the match with the Georgian Saburtalo. We play very slowly, we make many passes back to the defenders. I want to see the aggression and the attacking game of the team.
- Did you manage to declare Ariel Borisyuk and Andrei Lukic for the match?
- Yes, both players are in the application and can get their chance to prove themselves.
- Zoran, is there a difference between the team that met with Saburtalo and the one that will enter the field tomorrow with AIK?
- The first game was very bad, after seven days - a good away. Then they played well in Tirana, but not in Tiraspol. Therefore, sometimes I feel like a good coach, and sometimes I don’t understand myself. In training, my players progress, but in games they are unstable.
