FC Sheriff head coach Zoran Zekic commented on the results of the victory in the Moldovan classico against Zimbru, Chisinau.

 

- We deserved the victory. I can say that in the first 25 minutes, it seems, did not come to the game. Then we started to move better with and without the ball, became more aggressive, and we had more players in the final stage of the attack. Satisfied with how we played after 25 minutes.

 

- Did you like the quality of the game in the second half?

- I liked. 2-3 players raised the rhythm of the game, did not lose so many balls. I already said - as soon as we started to move better without the ball, as there were more connections in depth, the game began to work out. Thank God, we scored, I don’t know, two goals in two minutes.

 

- Julien played well today. Do you agree?

- I agree. He has many good qualities, but he still has a lot of work to do. We have already explained to him about the game discipline. He is still young. When He will not be in the clouds (there were two such episodes today), everything will be fine. He has speed, good technique, good kick. If he works the way he does now, I think he will have a better chance of playing.

 

- Moldavian classico is interesting regardless of the result and this was shown by the first 25 minutes of the match. Do you agree?

- I tried to explain this to my players before the game. They don't know the history of Moldovan football. I know it. I remember when I played for Hajduk Split long time ago. I told the players that we must respect this team. Traditionally, Zimbru is the most principled rival for FC Sheriff. Today they showed that they know how to play football, they have a desire, they play not only in defense. I like it, and sometimes it is easier for us to play that way when the team is trying to play not only from behind.
