“Zimbru” – “Sheriff” October 19, 2013
One of the central games of the Championship of Moldova was the match between “Zimbru” from Chisinau and “Sheriff” from Tiraspol in the 12th round of the National Division.
The game aroused great interest on a Moldavian scale. There were not so many supporters but vacant seats did not prevail. The game was ambiguous for our team. Right after the start of the game “Zibmru” could take the lead. While a mess in the penalty area of “Sheriff” Anatol Cheptine sent the ball to the net. During the first half “Sheriff” tried to find a way to score a goal and they found it on 40th minute. Marcel Metoua’s raid was stopped against the rules. As a result we got a dangerous foul. Henrique Luvannor converted a shot from the set piece and sent it to the upper in a beautiful way – 1:1!
In the second half “Sheriff” did well in the attack and started creating dangerous moments. Marko Stanojevic could score from the distance many times but his shots did not reach the gate. It should be noted that the home team often broke the rules in the area close to their penalty box. As a result many shots from set pieces were made and each of them was dangerous. By the end of the game “Zimbru” was left outnumbered. Constantin Bogdan was sent off after he got the second yellow card. In one of the episodes Ricardinho shot at the gate, however there was a rebound which prevented the ball from coming to the net. In the added time Luvannor shot at the gate from the corner of the penalty area. But Nicolae Calancea made a save, Ricardinho got the ball but it hit the crossbar.
