Yury Kendysh: A big thanks to our fans for their support and devotion.
FC Sheriff Belarusian player Yury Kendysh scored a brace into FC Milsami’s net in the game on matchday 17 of the Championship. Yury told our club’s reporter about the first brace in his career, the forehand victory in the Moldovan Championship and the coming up game in the Europa League.
Yury, we and all the fans congratulate you on the Champions title. What are your feelings?
Thank you so much, I’m feeling so pleased. Of course, lots of positive emotions: we could do it! All the team is in high spirits. This year may bring me double success. If FC BATE, where I played in more than half of the games, become the Champions of Belarus then it will mean I will win two trophies in two countries. Now we've calmed down and are in a serious preparation for the Europa League. We all understand that the level of the teams playing in Euro Cups is really high and we understand the importance of this European tournament.
The destiny of the Championship has been solved in the game against FC Milsami. What can you say about this game?
Milsami is a tough team, they are real fighters. In the last game we had lots of single fights and not much of beautiful and spectacular football. But we managed to withstand, shot our goals and left with deserved three champion points.
Finally, you managed to score for Sheriff, moreover, in such a key game. Why did it happen only at the end of the season?
It is my first brace ever in my football career and I am so happy with this personal achievement. Maybe, everything comes at the right time. If I began to score why not to keep on going. These days our coach expects me to go higher in the defensive midfield. As a result I began to participate more often in creating actions of the team.
Do you have enough strength for the game against FC Zlin? The fifth matchday for the Europa League Group stage takes place this Thursday.
We have enough strength, we will be in excellent shape for the Europa League both physical and mental. We have great staff that takes care of our condition.
The first leg against the Czechs ended in a draw. What is your opinion about this rival?
During the first leg we were examining each other. Both teams played it safe and it affected the game. We had great opportunities to take the lead. But unfortuatelly, we couldn’t score. By the way, our opponents also had their chances, that’s why we are preparing a lot to their attacking play.
What will be the difference between the last and the coming up game?
First of all, our twelfth player who gave us an outstanding support during the game against Lokomotiv will be with us. Second, we gained necessary experience of playing in the first encounter with this team. And most important, we are on our psychological highest level, we must make use of it and try hard to win.
Your word to the club’s fans and supporters on the eve of the important game in the Europa League?
Sheriff makes football history and our supporters are always with us.
