Yansane Momo: "It is also important to benefit the team"
Last week Yansane Momo signed a contract with FC Sheriff. In the first interview, the Guinean forward spoke about himself and his plans for the future:
- Momo, tell us a little about how you became a football player
- Since childhood, I started watching football on TV, soon I had my own idols, a little later a passion for this sport arose. I started to combine my studies at school with training at the football academy. As a young man, I realized that studying alone would not achieve a stable income, so football has already become vital for me. As a result, it turned out that football for me is both a great passion and a great opportunity to achieve material stability.
- Why did you choose FC Sheriff?
- Several years ago I played in Belarus and there Yuri Vernidub paid attention to me. Then I opposed his team in the championship. Since then, the coach wanted to see me in his team. And so it happened - now I am here and ready for new challenges. I've been at the base for several days now and I'm quite impressed with how everything works here. I can't wait to play for the team and contribute to the history of the club.
- FC Isloch is your first European club. Can we say that you opened up there?
- No, I believe that I have revealed myself as a footballer in Guinea, playing for FC Hafia Conakry. There I was recognized as the best player. The two seasons of the game in Belarus are also very successful for me - considering that I did not play all the matches due to the pandemic. The statistics are not bad, but I intend to always increase them. Coming to each club, I set myself a bar for goals scored and stubbornly move towards this.
- Today have not you lost your appetite for scoring and what is the goal level for goals scored in FC Sheriff?
- No, my appetite has not disappeared. Any scorer, I can tell you, must have the appetite of a hungry lion, and that's professional. I play not only for statistics - it is important to benefit the team, and I play for the sake of my family and loved ones - this is also very important to me. As for the goals scored plan, Sheriff is no exception. The bar and goal have been set, but let's talk about it at the end of the season. It is common knowledge that football, like life, is unpredictable.
