FC Sheriff youth team failed to reach the round of 32 of the UEFA Youth League. In the second-leg match that took place today at the Small Arena of the sports complex Sheriff Shota Makharadze's team were more confident than three weeks ago but they could not win three goals back.

In the first 45 the visiting team possessed the ball for the entire period. However, there were not many dangerous moments. Romanian players made two long-ranged shots, delivered five corners but our defenders did a good job. Alexandru Matan was the most active and showed great dribbling. It seemed to be close to the draw, Cicaldau entered the box, fell and the referee considered it to be a rule violation. He then delivered the penalty.

In the second 45 Sheriff players were more confident and broke into attack and they seemed to perform well with this experienced team. Cobet got a pass from Caimacov but being one on one with the goalkeeper shot right into him. Quick counterattacks by Sheriff caused much trouble but we failed to score. As a result – 0:1 defeat.

FC Viitorul deserved to go further. The team is much more experienced, six players of them perform in Top Division in the Championship of Romania. It was a great chance for our players to have experience in such tournament. And this experience will definitely be useful.
