The draw for the 1/16 finals of the UEFA Europa League took place today at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, within the framework of which the rival of FC Sheriff was determined. It was FC Braga Portugal.

 

The team coached by Yuriy Vernidub achieved the right to play at this stage thanks to their successful performance in the group stage of the Champions League, finishing third in the same group with Real Madrid, Italian Inter and Shakhtar Donetsk.

 

“The first participation of FC Sheriff, the representative of Moldova, in the play-off round is a historic event,” said UEFA General Secretary Giorgio Marchetti at the draw.

 

The first match will take place on February 17 in Tiraspol, the return match - on February 24 in Braga
