Vladimer Mamuchashvili: «The mental aspect in soccer is of utmost importance»
Georgian midfielder Vladimer Mamuchashvili: about the match with Milsami, adaptation in the club, simplicity of Khvichi Kvaratskhelia and personal goals.
- Vladimer, you have played two games already, how do you feel about these games and overall adaptation in the club?
- What can I say about these games. Definitely, the second game, against “Milsami”, was better for me. Here is a little bit different style and system of play. I need some time to maximize my conditioning and get used to the style of play of the team.
- What style of play are you comparing with?
- I mean the soccer in the Championship of Moldova. Unlike Georgia, it is more forceful soccer here. I can not say that the speed of the game is higher than in Georgia, but there is a lot of physical struggle. What else caught my eye is that there is more time for thinking and decision making in the matches. In Georgia the opponents play more tightly and don't let you do that. And of course, it's the technical component of the game.
- More time to make a decision means a stronger game from your side?
- It doesn't depend on me only, soccer is a collective game. If each player plays fast, then the whole team plays fast.
- What is the level of your communication and interaction with your partners? Would you rate it on a scale from one to ten?
- Ten - if we talk about relationships outside the soccer field. As for the game connections, I would give five points. There is something to strive for.
- How did you feel the atmosphere at the match against “Milsami”?
- We felt the support, but as a soccer player I would like to play in full stands. In turn, we will try to show spectacular games and achieve high goals.
- In your opinion, what was missing for the victory?
- More thought-out attacks, and the ball should have been mostly with us. Dangerous moments that we created should have been realized, actually we are working on it.
- What kind of soccer do you like?
- Dominance, high pressing, lock the opponent in his half of the field and conduct a positional attack. Most of all I like to control the ball. Since childhood, in the academy of FC Batumi we were taught this.
- You were left out of the Georgian national team's application at the last European Championship in Germany.....
- I wouldn't like to talk about it much, there is definitely a very high competition in the Georgian national team today. There are a lot of players from top European leagues.
- Which of the national team players do you communicate with the most?
- I communicate with all of them, but the closest to me are Davitashvili, Kvaratskhelia, Altunashvili. These guys I know best, we grew up together.
- What's he like? Khvicha Kvaratskhelia outside of soccer.
- He is a very simple person, in communication and in everyday life he is very easy, you can't tell from these factors that he is a top level soccer player. He can just call, talk to you or congratulate you when you don't expect it. And he is also a man with a sense of humor - he jokes well and understands jokes himself.
- Who is your idol in world soccer?
- Cristiano Ronaldo, it's a pity I didn't manage to play against him at the last European Championship.
- Why not Lionel Messi?
- Messi is also a great soccer player, but I think Cristiano is mentally stronger. For me, the mental aspect of soccer is of great importance.
- Tell us a little bit about training and soccer of Mislav Karoglan.
- He instills his system in us, he wants us to control the ball and the game more, we work a lot on positional attack. He requires us to be more aggressive with the opponent and create more chances.
- What goal did you set when you moved to FC Sheriff?
- First of all, when I came here I knew that this is a big club. Despite the fact that we failed to qualify for the European Cup, I really want to contribute for the sake of winning the Super League.
