Viktor Mikhailov: “The game in the Europa League left its mark”
Acting head coach Viktor Mikhailov about the match against FC Petrocub:
- The opponent used defensive tactics, one might say, he defended himself with a bus. How difficult was it to break through this defense?
- It’s always difficult when the opponent sits low in defense, it’s hard to break. At the same time, we had enough approaches and opportunities not only in the first half, but also in the second. Let's remember Ankiye moment at the end of the match, where he almost reached the ball. The fact that we recently played away in the Europa League left its mark, there is fatigue. Now our task is to recover. We only had one training session to prepare. They did what they could. The only thing missing was a goal. We completely outplayed the opponent in terms of possession and creating scoring chances. They didn't score.
- And in the first one. and in the second half there were controversial decisions on the part of the referee. In the second half there was a clear handball, but the referee made decisions, to put it mildly, not in your favor. How do you feel about this?
- We can’t change anything now. The game is over and there is no point in talking about it. There are people who analyze their work, let them do it. Our job is to play on the field.
- You are once again acting as head coach. What are you facing now, what are the main problems?
- Let's not talk about problems. Let's talk about the good stuff. We had a difficult period, the game in Prague, we played today. The guys need to rest, and then with new strength and positive emotions we will start preparing.
