The national team of Moldova lost to Austria in a preliminary match for the World Championship 2018 that takes place in Russia.

Among Sheriff players only Radu Ginsari took the field and played the entire 90 minutes. Maxim Potirniche and Alexei Koselev stayed on the bench. 

Under-21 national team played one of the two matches with Albania. The game ended in a 0:0 draw. Sheriff Academy players: Andrei Macritchii in the starting line-up and his brother Valery who is on loan in FC Speranta; Ivan Urvantev took the field on 84th minute and was booked.
