“Tromsø” – “Sheriff” October 3, 2013
Today FC “Sheriff” took part in UEFA Europa League second round match. The opponent of our team was “Tromsø” from Norway.
The match took place in the northernmost European stadium in the city of Tromsø on the artificial turf of “AlfheimStadion”. From the very beginning both teams started attacking and the ball was rarely in the center of the field. The first dangerous moment was created by “Sheriff”. Ismail Isa was good at shooting the gate but the ball hit the post. Ricardinho had a similar chance in ten minutes, however he could not convert it. Ondrasekfrom “Tromsø” shot but he missed. In general the game was very tense with many penalties but none of the teams used this opportunity. On 30th minute the home team created a really dangerous moment but JaroslawFojut did not make it into the gate in a corner kick. Kadu was close to score at the end of the first half but conversion failed.
On 62nd minute Isa was one-on-one with the goalkeeper but the Bulgarian decided to strike the ball above Sahlman but he took the ball. In a few minutes local supporters had a reason to be happy. Zdenek Ondrasek got the ball from the penalty area and shot at the gate of “Sheriff”. Melligot double booked and was dismissed for the foul. Being left outnumbered “Sheriff” did not stop attacking for which act it was rewarded on 87th minute. Ricardihno used a chance where Ruben Kristiansen was incautious, so he sent the ball in the close corner of Marcus Sahlman’s gate – 1:1!
Our team gets the second point in the group and stays at the second place. “Tromsø” and “Anji” both have one point. “Tottenham” is the leader in our group having six points after the win on “Anji” by the score 0:2.
