Hello Miral. Please, tell us how the training camps are going.
Training camps are going in a normal way. The most important thing now is to get into physical form and train team actions in order to play well in the second half of the championship.
Did you get tired already?!
No, I am not tired so far. We are training for about a week so we are not tired yet.
What is the most difficult thing for you while training camps?
The most difficult for me is running without a ball which is practices sometimes.
How do you like Turkish weather?
It makes me glad! The sun is shining; it is warm, what can be better?!
Tell supporters what you do at the trainings sessions?
As I have said, we get physically fit. We practice team play because we have new players. It is the most important at the moment.
How do you get on with Potiguar and Ernandes?
They joined us not a long time ago. They should adapt and only then we will talk about it.
Do you think they can help our team this season?
I cannot answer this question right now because the guys need to adapt.
Miral, do you have a dream?
I want to play in Champions League group stage.
Did you have a favorite football club in your childhood?
As a kid, I supported “Milan” (Italy). I remember Paolo Maldini, Clarence Seedorf, Filippo Inzaghi.
Did you decide to become a center back after watching Maldini’s game?
No. In the beginning of my career I played as a holding midfielder. However in Slovenian national team I played in the position of a center back and so I stayed on this position.
A professional football player has many training sessions and games, and you don’t have much free time. How did you meet your wife?
We met when I was 18 years old. It was at school. After that we dated and then got married.
Let’s talk about the national team. What do you feel when you are called up to the national team?
It is difficult to describe this feeling. I am proud because I represent my team. It makes me very glad.
It is more difficult to be called up in Moldova than playing in your native country in Slovenia…
Yes, it is really difficult to be called up performing in the championship of Moldova because players of our national team play all over Europe. I am lucky that FC “Sheriff” performed in Europa League this year.
Football players are often superstitious. What about you?
No, I am not like that. I got used to have a composed and concentrated attitude to the game.
Do you have a feeling of doubled responsibility acting as a team captain?
I feel the responsibility because a captain should set the team and himself for the game.
What thing do you remember most of all playing in FC “Sheriff”?
I remember the game against “Dinamo” from Zagreb where we won on penalty. I also remember the first performance in Europa League group stage.
You are having games with “Vaslui” and “Ludogorets” soon. What tasks does FC “Sheriff” have in these matches?
We should practice team play with the new composition. With these matches we should prepare the team to play well in the championship and then in European Cups.
