Hello, Victor Vasilievich. Please, tell us how the training camps are going, how the team is training and whether you complete all your set tasks?
Hello. The team is training twice per day. We played one game already. We will also play with “Ludogorets” from Bulgaria while the first training camp. In general, everything that we planned before our trip to Turkey is fulfilled. It is time for training loads for the players, however they stand everything adequately. All guys know what they came here for.
Did the rain influence the training process?
Taking into account weather conditions, we corrected our work a little bit. In the morning we spent a training session on the field according to plan, and we have another training sessionin the evening. We will also have a lessonon theory. Despite bad weather conditions, we work in the same order.
You have worked with the second team for a long time. What is the difference between the preparation of young football players and the established players?
You said it right, they are already established players, and there is a difference. Young players need to be explained many things, taught technical and tactical basics. Here in the first team the approach is absolutely another one. In this team we can realize different tasks which are beyond the power of the young players.
Some of “Sheriff-2” players are staying here at the training camp now. Is it easier for young players because they have a coach they had before?
On the one hand, yes, but on the other hand – no. I think that if you are a football player and work in the first team, then you will be placed the same requirements as the other players. It does not make any difference if they worked with me previously or no. There are principles of the game which should be followed by them.
Are there times when they ask for your advice?
Of course. They come to me and ask something. Our coaches try to help the guys to adapt in the first team. We have a very friendly team which allows them to adapt faster.
You obtained UEFA PRO license one year ago. Tell us what way coaches undergo in order to obtain this license?
There are definite levels before PRO license. These are UEFA “C”, “B”, “A”, and then goes PRO license. It was difficult to obtain this license. I had to do a lot of new and complex work. Both the club and the coaches helped in that. The license gave us a lot in terms of education.
Did you obtain this license together with VeaceslavRusnac?
Yes, I met VeaceslavPetrovich there. Already at that time our football ideas matched.
How important is education for coaches? What advice would you give to newcomers?
Education is very important. We should keep pace with the European football, develop, get interested in innovations, examine games and make conclusions out of it. I would advise self-education and have a great desire to achieve goals.
FC “Sheriff” had a game with FC “Vaslui”? What did our team lack, in your opinion? And what thingswere done well?
As I said, now the players have enough training loads. We played at the time of being tired. FC “Vaslui” is the team of a good level. We lacked concentration. In general, we had good moments in terms of game discipline and tactical tasks.
How is coaching staff preparing for the matches?
I would say that coaching staff prepares not only for matches but also to each training session. We discuss the previous training session and make plans for the next one. While preparation for the games we examine the opponent and try to realize the combination in game.
What is the most important thing in the work of a coach?
If it is the work you love, then there are no difficulties. There are not simple moments, for example, when a team loses. We should make conclusions and move on.
Each coach sees football in a different way. How do you see modern football?
Modern football is football which brings pleasure to audience, it is fluid passing, individual and team actions.
Is FC “Sheriff” close to modern football?
We are on the way to it. The club does everything possible so that FC “Sheriff” could play modern football.
