Training camps.Day five. An interview with Veaceslav Rusnac
FC “Sheriff” head coach Veaceslav Rusnac talked to the team’s press service about the preparation for the season:
Veaceslav Petrovich, good evening. How are the trainings camps going?
Training camps are going according to the plan, it makes us glad. The guy understand what they should do and they do it with pleasure. The weather also makes us happy and we can do everything to the maximum.
Are you satisfied with the work of the team while training camps?
I am very satisfied with their attitude to the whole thing. Everyone understands that this training camp is very important and it is necessary to put a foundation for successful work this year.
Can we say that tomorrow FC “Sheriff” will play to 70% of their efforts, or is it early to speak about it?
I think FC “Sheriff” will play to 100% of their efforts they have today. I don’t doubt in maximum commitment. Of course, it is the time of training camps, there is high load and some tiredness.
In the interview with Miral and Luvannor we asked them a question: “What is the most important for our team in the game with “Vaslui” and “Ludogorets”?” They said the most important is to keep playing with this team composition and always win. What is the most important for you as a head coach?
For me the most important is to test in practice those tactical tasks that we train. We do everything well at the training session, we would also like to make it good with the resistance. We hope to convert our tactical tasks.
How do you explain your tactical thoughts to the players?
We always examine the opponent and give maximum information about it. It comprises video, tactical work, staging the game of the opponent and building our game from that.
How important is it to dictate the pace of the game in your opinion?
It is perhaps the most difficult thing in football to regulate the pace of the game. There are moments where we should be faster and we should realize them. There are also moments to relieve the pace and we should be able to realize them too. It is trained and it is very important.
Is it easy to change tactics in the course of the match? Do you and the players prepare a few fame plans?
We should always have a few game plans. It depends on the score and on the condition of the team. It is very important to have players who are able to change something on the field. We can prepare eight variants but none of them will be realized. We have the players who can realize these plans.
How important is it now to play in short pass?
It is very important to play in quick pass. Modern football is quick football, it is a combination of short and middle passes moving forward on maximal speed. We try to work in this direction and to select such players. It remains our style and I hope we will improve this aspect this year.
How valuable are such football players who can control the ball on high speed?
In my opinion, these are modern football players who are able to control the ball on high speed under pressure. The more of such players we have, the better it is.
Veaceslav Petrovich, what do you expect from the year 2014?
We talked to the team already. Our main tasks are the following: winning the championship and the cup, and of course we will try to make our dream come true – entering into Champions League group stage.

Veaceslav Petrovich, what is the mood in the team before the match with “Vaslui”?
I am glad to talk to the supporters. I am open and ready to talk to anyone on different subjects. It was a very good idea. We understand how important supporters are for us. Their help cannot be overestimated. I liked the atmosphere in Ramenskoe a lot when we took the field and saw over one hundred people supporting us. It was very pleasant for us. I would like to thank them again for their support. As for the question, the mood in the team is great. Training is one thing and playing is the other thing. It is a celebration for a football player. The guys want to play very much.
Will there be any other buys in the team?
Yes, we talked to club’s administration. We need competition in some lines and I hope we will have a few buys before the start of the championship.
What can you say about new players in the team?
It is seen that they are high level players who played in good teams. Now they have a difficult period of adaptation. They came from another continent and they are first time in Europe. Of course, it is a bit difficult for them in this way. But we have many Brazilians who help them, coaches always have conversations with them. I am sure that both Ernandes and Potiguar will contribute to FC “Sheriff”.
Who is the best player of the year 2013 in your opinion? Who would you vote for (Ribery, Messi, Ronaldo)?
My opinion never changes, it is Messi. It is the player who breaks all football stereotypes and schemes. No matter how the opponent builds defense, he will always find an unusual way. It is difficult to play against him. It is interesting to watch him act on the field. Without having great physical data he never loses fight, plays with the help of his quick qualities and quick thinking. I think this football player can be at one level with Maradona and Pele.
