Shota Makharadze: «The collective spirit snatched victory»
Shota Makharadze, coach of the youth team of FC “Sheriff”, commented on the away victory over FC “Granicherul” - 1: 0:
- Shota, what emotions do you experience after such a game?
- We have been expecting such a game, since Monday we have been preparing for it as a difficult game with a serious opponent. Many factors were not on our side. Some of the players serve in the armed forces, some felt unwell, there are players with yellow cards. There was a difficult situation before the game, but we have a great team, and everyone who can enter the field is able to help to win. Everyone played well, including the goalkeeper. We have four great goalkeepers, among them healthy competition and this is a good incentive to progress. In general, to summarize, today it was not individualists who played, but players with a collective attitude. I repeat, today the collective spirit has snatched the victory from the opponent. I am grateful to everyone and those players who stayed in Tiraspol for various reasons. I am proud of everyone, including our staff.
- Did the quality of the lawn affect the game?
- Both teams in the same conditions, of course, it is better for us to play on good lawns. Today we had to play in such conditions, and we quickly adapted to them. If necessary, we can play on asphalt, for our team this is not a problem.
- What can you say about the tournament alignment, where a fierce struggle for prizes is taking place at the top of the table?
- Of course we follow all the teams there, but before the season we decided on some principles. Namely - for us every game is a holiday, it is a new experience and emotions. Each fight is a final game for us. How it will be reflected in the standings - time will tell.
