The head coach of FC Sheriff Academy Shota Makharadze shared his opinion on the resumption of the training process of FC Sheriff youth and on the expectations of the start of the new game season.

 

- Shota, how did you perceive the football break due to the pandemic and share your impressions of the current situation after three months break?

- It is worth noting - it was a very difficult period for us. In particular, psychologically. It’s very hard to be without football. The work took place remotely, but this is not what we needed fully. Now in training everyone's emotions go wild, a great desire to play football. I'd like to note that the boys are disciplined, because they realized how hard it is to be without your favorite game.

 

- Tell us about communication with the team during isolation.

- We did not stop working, and the training took place remotely in physical condition, twice a day - in the morning and in the evening. We tried to make maximum use of the conditions in which our youth found themselves.

 

- In your opinion, how will this pause affect our team and the entire championship?

- Definitely - we are now in the same conditions and no one will get an advantage in this regard. At first it will be difficult for the team physically, but these shortcomings are compensated by the great desire and emotions of the players.

 

- How is the training process going and what features of training would you highlight at this time?

- First of all, I'd like to note how seriously all the employees of our complex and the entire club staff approached training. Responsibility is visible, starting with each player and ending with coaches. We have realized that individual discipline forms collective responsibility. It all depends on each of us whether there will be football or not. The entire training process is based on the strict implementation of all issued recommendations. Our main priority is our health.

 

- What are your expectations from the start of Division A?

- We are very interested in how everything will be held this year. Last season, we opposed reserves of the National Division. Now there will be a different format of the competition. We expect stronger and stronger rivals during the season. A new challenge to overcome. Plus, do not forget about the participation of our students in the UEFA Youth League.
