Sheriff - Zimbru. Match report
Today on the Main Arena of SC Sheriff the game between Sheriff and Zimbru was held. As everyone could suppose there have been a lot of battles on the pitch. Sheriff began to build pressure from the very start and tried to score a goal. The hosts succeeded in the middle of the first half, when Stanojevic crossed to Balima, the defender made a clearance right to Pascenco, outside of the penalty area. Pascenco managed to produce a great shot - powerful and precise, and Sheriff took the lead. The Zimbru's goalkeeper couldn't do anything. Then Metoua won the ball and Dedov made a good shot, but the ball went wide. Radu Catan made a shot from the free kick, but Zveaghintev was in control and gained posession of the ball. In the end of the first half Kuznetsov could have scored an own goal, but Calancea managed to grab the ball. The first half ended 1-0.
The second half began with Zimbru's dangerous attack. Antoniuc crossed to the far post, where Catan has been. Radu made a shot to the near corner, but the ball went wide. Metoua later tried to send the ball over the goalkeeper, but Calancea was aware and cleared the danger. After that the game calmed down, the visitors sometimes tried to build attacks, but Sheriff's defender played very relable. Zimbru also didn't allow the hosts to create any danger. The most dangerous moment in the second half belongs to Georgiev, who crossed to Pesic. The Serbian player was not in time for the ball, but the cross was very good and the ball hit the post. In the additional time Rouamba was sent off, having got the second yellow card (He has got the first one for the foul on Catan), but the visitors didn't have time to try to convert advantage to goal. Therefore Sheriff gained an important victory - 1:0.
