Sebastian Dahlström: "In Finland there are no complexes of this scale."
The first interview of the club's press office with the newcomer of our team, Sebastian Dahlström.
- Sebastian, congratulations, you are now FC Sheriff player. Share your impressions of your first days at the club.
- Thanks a lot. I have pleasant feelings and I am very glad that the contract with Sheriff has already been signed. Cool conditions for training of football players, excellent football infrastructure are created here. There are no complexes of this scale in Finland. Personally, I trained and played at the main arena of the stadium of the last club. Here, many training fields are set, it is impressive. I am pleasantly surprised that many people speak English, a good factor for successful work. My main goal is to play abroad, before that I played for HJK, now I am in Tiraspol. Everything is going according to my plan as I want. I strive to play at a higher level, it motivated me to move here.
- Your mentor will be Zoran Zekic. What are your anticipations from working with a Croatian specialist?
- I have not yet worked in my career with Croatian coaches. The anticipations are positive, I think it will be interesting. I heard earlier about Zoran Zekic. He promotes young players well in Croatia. I know that our coach played excellently in his time, and now he is also professional in his field.
- Your playing in the midfield, tell me a little about it.
- I am focused on the game in destruction, and of course in creation on the opponent's half of the field. Let's just say, that the tactical scheme “box to box” is extremely attractive to me. A quick move from defense to attack is very important in modern football.
- “Box to box” - is used in certain attacking schemes. Are you ready to adapt to other tactical plans of our coaching staff.
- It's not a problem for me. I used to play on different positions. I know what to do and try to be ready to do it.
- You already have experience playing in European competitions. Do you have any excitement for these games, if so, how do you deal with it?
- Of course, a certain excitement is present before such important matches. I can deal with this pressure. I try to convert excitement into energy on the football field.
- In your opinion, what is the most important thing in football?
- It's important, what is happening in your head. This is primarily an intellectual game. How well do you deal with what is happening on the football field. The temper of every player is important here either.
- In the Finnish national team you have two played matches, is competition is high there?
- The competition is extremely high and tense, as there are a lot of players who are one step away from getting into the national team. I really want to prove myself in the games of the Champions League. Through this tournament, there will be more chances to get into the national team.
- Have you set goals for the upcoming season with a new team?
- First, I need to win a place in the starting line-up of the team. I will work hard at trainings, so that I get there. Next, achieve the championship with the team and go as far as possible in the Champions League. I will not hide the fact that I like to give assists and score goals to the rivals' nets. I’ll do this to the maximum in Sheriff.
