Roberto Bordin: We had enough goal attempts to win
FC Sheriff head coach Roberto Bordin commented on the match with Dinamo Auto:
- There were two different teams on the pitch. One team wanted to attack and win. The other one wanted to defend. We think the additional time given was not enough. In the first half it was three minutes, in the second half - six minutes. The game was stopped every minute and for quite a long time. Absolutely in every our attack the opponent players fell down. Even where there were no combats and in some cases even with no ball around. People were just falling. We tried to win and did everything we could. The style of the opponent's game with defense only caused us many problems. I think in these situations referees should take some measures. A lot of playing time is lost and additional time does not correspond to those breaks we had.
- There was a marker with Brezovec today. It seemed it did not let him show himself...
- Yes, there was such a player. We tried to change the scheme in order to make him go to other positions. Brezovec is a very important player for us. But other players showed themselves well. They had their moments, they entered the box and made everything to win.
- Savic played central forward after 60th minute. Was it because the opponent did not attack?
- I think everyone noticed that the opponent did not attack much. We tried to play long and high balls to Savic and after that we fielded Jabbie too. We did not have any other opportunities in such game. We though tall players would score.
- Putting away the opponent's actions, what did Your team lack? Maybe you were not lucky enough?
- I do not think we were unlucky. We had enough goal attempts both in the first and in the second half. We attacked a lot. There is no such principle in football as unlucky. We tried to open the attack area wider and to score. Of course, we need to understand and find ways to the goal. Perhaps we will have other teams that will play such football.
