Roberto Bordin: The goal is one: winning the Cup and the Championship
FC Sheriff head coach Roberto Bordin commented on tomorrow’s match with FC Dacia:
- With no exaggeration it will be a hard match tomorrow. The game with the team that showed themselves well this season. We expect a performance for supporters. We had 4 four days to recover after the Cup and to prepare, first of all, psychologically. We know it will be a hard and very important match but we are the best result.
- You sit now in the same way like before the Cup final. Do you think it’s a good sign or another reason?
- We – yes, and some of you – not. It actually happened accidentally.
- After a victory over Zaria do you understand if you play the same way, the teams in the championship don’t have a chance in matches with Sheriff?
- As I already said after the Cup final, we had a moment of joy. But on the next day we started to prepare for the next match that will be different from the previous one. I am sure it will be a hard march against a high-level team. We prepared for this match differently because we know it will be absolutely different from the final. We understand it and move forward.
- FC Sheriff managers were lucky to get players from Zimbru Chisinau. These were Epureanu, Dadu. Last example is Vitalie Damashkan. In what condition is he?
- As for his condition, after scored goals he is great psychological spirits. As well as Ion Jardan, Damashkan joined us from Zimbru – important players for us. He is still a young player and maybe it is better not to put so much responsibility on him. At the moment we should use his strongest quality.
- You probably often remembered the match against FC Academia. What answers did you find afterwards?
- There were questions also after other matches that did not bring positive result. Of course, after the score 1:1 we had chance to finish the match with another result. We did not convert our good chances that influenced the rest in the championship. It was not our day. Of course, we made a few mistakes. The only thing we can do is to move forward.
- FC Dacia will not have Semen Bulgaru. Are there players in the team that will not play? Second question: Serghei Juric defends the goal in the last matches but he has not played much in the championship. And now at the end of the season he becomes the main goalkeeper …
- Everyone is ready to play in our team tomorrow. As for the second question, Juric is a serious guy and is a professional player. He always worked hard at the training sessions, even when he had to watch the match from the stand. Our strongest thing is that all players are in good condition and train to one hundred percent. And then they take the field and do what they have to do. Let’s not forget that Juric has been a long time in the team and he played many important matches for Sheriff. He didn’t come just now.
- You are one step from winning both trophies. Will it be a disappointment for you to lose in tomorrow’s match or will you be composed and satisfied with the Cup?
- We have been working with the team for the whole season: win the Cup and the Championship. It’s the ambition of our team and the club. And so we try to be concentrated at maximum to fulfill this task.
- Will you be upset if you don’t win both trophies?
- I don’t think about it now. Now all my thoughts are about the game and how we will play. We have worked a lot with the team to achieve our goals. We will get replies tomorrow.
- Dacia will not play open football with you. They will probably neutralize your strongest players. Do you consider this before fielding your team?
- We will think about these details more. We have evening training session. In the last match they played attacking football. Now it’s hard to discuss it. We will see. If we need to change something in the course of the match, we will do it.
