Roberto Bordin: I want to thank the whole team
FC Sheriff head coach Roberto Bordin comments on the Championship match against FC Milsami and takes a look into the future:
Good afternoon. Before to give my opinion about today’s match I’d like to remind that recently we have lost a player who played in our team Dionatan Teixeira. The fact we achieved this result is also his merit. Now the game. Today you could witness a men’s play. It was a real battle on the field. In the first half, we took the right possession of the ball and dominated the course of the game. We played a bit worse in the second half when the opponents turned the tables. We had some difficulties in the middle of the field. But everything came alright in the end. I want to thank the team that we achieved the goals stated. I want also to say a word of thank you to the coaching staff who work with the team. Today we will celebrate and tomorrow will strat preparations for the next game.
Give us a brief analysis of the Championship…
I can say that for sure – it was a tough Championship. We started it not quite well. We couldn’t reach the top position on the first matchdays despite of all our wishes. But at some moment we managed to do this. Then we could keep the lead by the right tactics. Another difficulty represented the fact that the Championship was short and every mistake could be fatal. Moreover, we play in the second tournament. It was a fight on two battle fields. I want to thank the whole team again. They worked hard during the entire period.
Today it would be enough not to lose. Why haven’t you saved the energy for the coming up gane on Thursday?
First, we play to win in every game. It’s our principal goal. We always want to win. Secjnd, it would be unwise to think about Zlin right since today’s morning. We had the main task to win in the Championship match. This game is very important for the club. And what is coming next – time will show. We prepare for every game. Third, it’s not a good option to play defense and to ward off. There is always a chance to receive the ball into our net. But to get back into the play – that’s what is difficult. The victory is always on the first place.
Under some conditions, it’s possible to leave the group already on Thursday…
We should focus on our match first of all, focus on our play, our shape and condition we go for a game. And not to think how two other teams are playing. You know who I mean. The key thing for us is to get our points. We don’t depend on others’ results. Let’s see in the end of the match. We will concentrate on our play and try to perform with dignity. That’s how we can determine our destiny.
In the first leg against FC Zlin the team have converted lots of chances. Will you playin the same aggressive way?
We had many opportunities in the first leg against FC Zlin. However, that’s not what we should keep in mind. We are certain it will be a different game. Our rivals will try to play football, will make attempts to gain points if possible. Now we are thinking only about our play, about how to be ratinal and to show a good performance and to get the result.
