FC Sheriff head coach Roberto Bordin before the second round match of the Europa League group stage with Slavia Prague:

 

- After the last match in the Super League, you said that the team lacked concentration in the second half. Is this a problem for the team?

- Good evening everyone. This is just an observation from that match, but the result spoke for itself - we won 4:0, we had enough intensity in the game. But you need to understand that these two matches are completely different, the tactics are built differently. A very difficult match awaits us. And only in the game will we see whether we worked correctly in this direction.

 

- How do you evaluate your work in the first match against Roma in Tiraspol?

- We looked very good in this match until the very end, we were only disappointed by the result. In the first half we could have taken the lead, but we scored an own goal. At the same time, the team on the field was one whole and tried to achieve a good result. And this is in a match with one of the favorites of the Europa League.

 

- Have you seen the Slavia game - did it impress you?

- We watched several matches, including games in the Europa League. This is a very dynamic team that is well organized and knows how to do a lot of things, including applying pressure. A very difficult match awaits us. At the same time, a lot will depend on how my team plays.

 

- Last year Sheriff played against a team from Pilsen. A lot of players have changed since then.

- This is true. FC Sheriff has a good scouting service. And many players have the opportunity to grow and move on. We have very efficient and talented players, all the guys deserve to move on, they work well in training and are getting better.

 

- Last year Sheriff played better away. This season the team is winning more matches in Tiraspol, but it doesn’t always work out away. Maybe we should change the tradition tomorrow?

- I won’t say that this is a trend. The matches are not the same. And it doesn’t always depend on where you play the match. To play a good match, many factors must come together. The players must play the best match of their careers and be concentrated. And tomorrow, too, many things must come together.

 

- What is more important in FC Sheriff - Super League matches or playing well in the group stage of the Europa League?

- For us, there is no division between the importance of Championship matches and matches of other tournaments. In any match we must prove our strength. Our goal was to qualify for the Champions League. In this regard, every match and every tournament in which we take part is important for us. We have tasks in the Europa League that we must complete and win the Champion title in Moldova.
