Robert Tambe: Sheriff is the most titled club in Moldova
The first interview of the Cameroonian forward of FC Sheriff, Robert Tambe:
- Robert, why did the choice fall on FC Sheriff?
- Everything is simple – Sheriff is the most titled club in Moldova. The team constantly fights for the champion's title. My choice is proved by desire to play in the squad of that team which always seeks to become the first in its country.
- How do you estimate your performance in Romanian CFR 1907 Cluj?
- In general, I’m satisfied with my playing in the Championship of Romania. I sought to help team as much as possible and went all out at trainings. But only the coach can judge my performance. I tried to carry out his tasks and requirements accurately.
- Last time you played for the national team in 2017, then Cameroon won the Africa Cup of Nations. How important is it for you to receive a call to the national team again?
- Of course, I’d like to play for the national team very much. It is huge honor for each player of our country. I need to work hard over myself. I hope to prove myself in the squad of FC Sheriff in the Championship and Euro cups. It will give the chance to receive a call to the national team.
-How did that success affect your further career?
- It was a big step in my career. Result of my long-term work. After that there were several offers from other clubs. I managed to play in the championships of Slovakia, Turkey and Romania. A season in the Turkish club Adana Demirspor, I consider, was the most productive. In 28 matches I scored 18 goals. However, I wanted to develop. Therefore I made a decision to continue my career in CFR 1907 Cluj which performs in the Top league of Romania.
-There are five forwards in our team. How are you going to win the place in the starting eleven?
-I’m not afraid of competition. There are several players on each position in each club. This is the usual thing. I am self-confident, that’s why I passed to Sheriff. I know my abilities and I intend to show them during the matches. I try to treat football responsibly and disciplined. First of all, it is necessary to give all the best at pre-season training camps. I expect that the head coach will provide me with a chance to prove myself, generally it depends on him whether I will play in starting eleven.
