Renan Guedes became the second Brazilian newcomer of FC Sheriff, who moved to our team, after the winter break. The rookie spoke about his career in Brazil, the reasons for the move and his first impressions of the new team.

 

- Renan, tell us about your career in Brazil.

- As a teenager, I won a lot of trophies playing for Corinthians. I got there at the age of 5. At 19, I emerged as a mature football player and since then we have achieved a lot with this club. I am grateful to the club's academy for everything they have invested in me. A very important trophy for me was won - the Sao Paulo Youth Football Cup. A serious tournament that opened up a lot of Brazilian talents. After this success, I moved to Atlético Mineiro, where I got my first professional football experience, later played for Joinville, and then ended up at the Bahia club. There I also got a very important trophy - the Northeastern Cup.

 

- The first European club in your career is FC Sheriff. What does this mean to you?

- Initially it was my dream to play in Europe. This year I am happy that everything came true, and Sheriff became the first European club in my career. It is a great success that the Brazilians here in Tiraspol play in the Champions League against Real, Shakhtar and Inter. I read interviews with Cristiano, Bruno Felipe and Fernando Peixoto. They talked about the Tiraspol club. Plus, I have friends in FC Shakhtar - Maicon and Pedrinho. In general, I heard about Sheriff for the first time from Victor Oliveira.

 

- Tell us your impressions of the team.

- The first trainings showed me that the team is well organized. Explanations are very accessible for new players, this is very important when preparing. I did not think that adaptation would be so easy and free. It can be seen that the coaching staff with a high organization of the football process.

 

- If not football, in what profession could you see yourself?

- None. I can't imagine myself outside of football. To be honest, I can't do anything else. So football is everything for me.

 

- What do you think, due to what actions and qualities will you be able to earn a place in the first team?

- I will try to demonstrate my skills in attack, today the defender devotes a lot of time to this. I have power in this component of the game. There are physical data that allow me to make large volumes in overcoming space. I want all this and not only to demonstrate, but to help the team win matches.

 

- How do you see yourself in the new team, in particular, in the championship games and European competitions?

- I definitely see myself in the Championship games and on the European arena - to show strong Brazilian football. I have been striving for this for a long time, and now it all needs to be implemented here in Europe.
