Razak Abalora: Goalkeeper is our family tradition
Goalkeeper from Ghana Razak Abalora has recently strengthened the position of our club's goalkeepers. We present to your attention the first interview of the newcomer of our team:
- Razak, congratulations on signing the contract, now your immediate plans are related to FC Sheriff...
- Thank you, I wanted to try my hand at Europe - everything worked out. I'm glad I signed the contract, I'm glad to be here and help the team in every way.
- Why did you decide to start your European football path with the Tiraspol team?
- I want to grow as a player and in the near future be stronger than now. Sheriff is a club that provides everything you need for this.
- How did the team accept and how is the adaptation going?
- Everything is good in this regard. The whole team accepted me well, everyone is friendly. I got acquainted with the coaching staff, and was especially warmly accepted by the team's goalkeeper coach. The adaptation is going the way I like it.
- First impressions of SC Sheriff
- The stadium was built at the highest level, if you like - first-class football infrastructure. How I was met, how the living conditions, the base, trainings are organized - everything is at the highest level.
- How did it happen that you chose the position of a goalkeeper in football?
- It's a family tradition. My father was also a goalkeeper, playing for the Ghana Armed Forces team. As a child, my father began to train me, to develop my goalkeeping skills. I can say I was born for this, I'm glad that everything turned out this way.
- Are you ready to compete in your position in the new club?
- Of course, I'm ready for competition. In general, my position implies always working and being ready for every game, regardless - in the first team or in the reserve for the match. This is the choice of the coach - whoever is better prepared will play.
- Three qualities that, in your opinion, a professional goalkeeper should have?
- Discipline, hard work and game intelligence - ie. understand what you are doing at the goal during the match.
