Radu Ginsar: “My task is to play the best I can”
The new player of FC Sheriff 22-year-old Moldavian forward Radu Ginsar gave his first interview for the official site of the club.
Radu, welcome to our club. Tell us how you knew about the proposal from FC Sheriff? Did you think about it for a long time?
Everyone knew that my contract with FC Zimbru expires when the season ends. So at the end of the season I was contacted by FC Sheriff and told that they want to see me in the team. I think it is a step forward. Now I should grow and prove that I can be useful for the team.
What are your first impressions of the team?
I have only positive impressions. Everything in the club is the on the highest level. I am happy I decided to come to FC Sheriff.
Who did you make friends with?
I met many players before. We were opponents in clubs and partners in the national team. I also met young players before.
What goals do you have after transferring to FC Sheriff?
I want to play my best in FC Sheriff and score as many goals as I can. Since I am an attacking player I must score.
FC Sheriff and FC Zimbru are principal opponents. Was it difficult to make this decision on the transfer to our club?
My contract with FC Zimbru expired and the management of the team did not do anything to prolong it. I got a chance to come to FC Sheriff and I did not want to lose it.
How did your close people react on your transfer? Did they support you?
My close people supported me a lot. They always support my decisions.
The goal of FC Sheriff is entering Champions League group stage. Are you ready to help the team in completing this task?
If coaching staff let me play in the team’s composition, I will do everything possible in order to help the team.
What position on the field is the closest for you?
I can play in all attacking positions. Probably, the closest for me are playmaker or forward.
What is difficult to do in your position?
If I am forward, I must be attentive at maximum. I should convert every mistake of the defender. Playing at the position of attacking midfielder, there must be a minimum of mistakes because all acuity comes from this position. If a player does not take part in the game and not energetic enough, then it is more difficult for him to show good game.
What is your best card?
My head. I always try to think on the field.
Do you have a favorite football player?
Most of all I like the style of Wesley Sneijder’s game.
Did you always know you would be a football player?
As a child, I liked singing, playing accordion. I took music lessons together with playing football. But the time came when I had to make a choice. And I decided that I am on one path with football.
You were almost transferred to FC Rubin some time ago. Why was the transfer not carried out?
It was a difficult moment for me. I hoped to play in FC Rubin but it turned out the other way. Everything that is done, is done for the best.
You were also on trial in Bournemouth FC (England) and FC Olhanense (Portugal)…
I spent not very much time in FC Olhanense. Then I spent three weeks in England. Many people liked my performance. It only needed to put one signature but again something happened. Anyway, it happened the way it should be.
Can you say that transfer to FC Sheriff is a new challenge for you?
Yes, it is an important part of my career, it is a challenge for me. FC Sheriff is a top club in Moldavian football which plays in Champions League. My task is to play the best I can to have a chance to play in the first eleven.
What are your interests besides football?
I will not hide I like reading books and watching movies. I like every kind of sports, especially – tennis.
