Playing catch-up
FC Sheriff youth team keep on training for the upcoming season. In the former control game, Luca Pavlovic’s side lost 3-4 to FC Zimbru-2.
In the first half, both teams spent too much time to build playing connections. The score was opened in the 39th minute. The guests came forth due to Victor Bogaciuc precise shot. Few minutes later, Vsevolod Nikhaev had a chance to even the score but the guests’goalkeeper saved the shot. By the end of the first half, the “Bisons” took the confident lead. Team captain Daniel Adam scored a goal.
In the second half, Luka Pavlovic fielded a bench strength. Players born in 2000 shot ahead and got both goals back. In the 49th minute, Igor Kiper won one shot and ten minutes later after hitting his leg, the ball unfortunately bounced into Victor Straistar’s net.
In the 69th minute, the Wasps made up ground. Alexander Kusmenko, taking advantage of the mess in defense, crossed the ball over the rivals’ goalkeeper. Zimbru players chose to start counterattacking. Soon, in one of such attacks, Radu Scoarte managed to extend the lead 2-4.
Sheriff Academy didn’t want to capitulate and by the end of the game using all their persistence they managed to cut the difference by one goal.
Alexander Kuzmenko made a brace from a killer pass of his partner (3-4). Luka Pavlovic’s squad was chasing the entire game but failed to equalize by the final whistle.
