Petru Racu: There were many highlights for which I am very grateful
A contract between our club and defender of FC Sheriff and the national team of Moldova has expired. In an exclusive interview to the correspondent of the press office Petru told about the highlights of his career in the "yellow-black" squad and about his wishes to FC Sheriff.
-Petru, what feelings do you have leaving the club?
-It is difficult to leave the team and all those who accepted me and always supported. But football career does not pass in one constancy, and each football player has to be ready to change the club and scenery. During the playing for FC Sheriff I managed to win two gold medals of the championship. It is an excellent result. One can’t but recall my games in the Europa League, as a result of which I gained invaluable experience.
-Tell us about the highlights of last two seasons.
- First of all these moments are connected with the champion title of the country. I was happy when we achieved this success. It was comfortable and good for me to play with my partners. Playing in the Europe League was remembered either. I would like to feel this again.
-What was the most memorable game for our team?
-There were a lot of interesting and exciting matches. But, perhaps, the victory in the group stage of the Europa League over the Moscow Lokomotiv was the brightest. This matchup will remain in my memory forever.
-Did you become stronger as a player for these two seasons?
-Certainly, I improved playing for Sheriff. Just experience of the playing in Euro cups made me stronger as football player. Level of my playing became higher, than it was. I think this essential factor will positively affect in search of the following team in my career.
-What plans do you have? Is there a chance of return to the championship of Sweden?
-Yes, it is. Meanwhile I planned a rest and then I will think about further career. I have several more years to show myself owing to my age. Therefore there is a wish to give all the best in the remained time of my career.
-What wishes do you have for FC Sheriff…
-I thank the management, all personnel, coaching staff, collective and our supporters for everything that they made for me. There were many highlights for which I am very grateful. And I would like to wish the team all success in the domestic championship and on the international stage.
