Patrick Pedersen: Everything is on a professional level in FC Sheriff
FC Sheriff newcomer, Patrick Pedersen, gave an interview to the Danish website bold.dk in which told about the new club and the feelings about the transfer to our team:
-Probably, many ask about my choice, about why I decided to join FC Sheriff. At first I doubted myself the expediency of this transfer, because I knew a little about this club and what tasks face it. But when I came to Tiraspol with the agent and my girlfriend, when I saw the club and the city I was very surprised with those opportunities and conditions which the club gives to the players. Everything is made professionally and on a high level, therefore I am convinced that I made a right choice.
- What most of all attracted you in FC Sheriff?
-Today FC Sheriff is the largest club in the country which won the last championship with a separation in 18 points. So, it is a club, in which the task of participation in Euro cups is a priority. For me it is very important and fascinating that in every season the club is faced by a task of qualifying for the group stage of the Euro cups. I would like to participate in it!
-Did you think about linguistic barrier which, perhaps, you will face in FC Sheriff?
- Of course, in the beginning there can be problems in that respect. But, as it seems to me, the most part of team speaks English, though not at very high level. Nevertheless, I already communicated to the Croatian head coach. I made sure that he speaks English well. So probably everything will develop well. A problem , in my view, will be that in Tiraspol people don’t speak English. But at the same time it will be very interesting to me to learn absolutely other culture. It differs from that, which I got used to. I’m going to start learning Russian language, but I know that it is not that language which can be learned in one-two days. Therefore I have to accept it as it is.
-In recent years Sheriff resells its players who proved oneself at the international level to Italian, French, Israeli and Arab clubs. Do you expect that after Sheriff you will continue your career in stronger championship?
-If everything goes well, many clubs which watch me will show serious interest to me. I know that FC Sheriff sells players who succeed in club. From the very beginning I have to prove myself, and then we will see what it will lead to.
-Do you expect that from the very beginning you will be provided with enough playing time?
- As far as I know, there was no clearly expressed forward in last season in FC Sheriff, so initially it was planned to make me the first forward in the club. My conversation with the coach in this regard, undoubtedly, was very positive. The club wanted to get me very much, and it is a good sign! I look forward to when I begin to play for Sheriff. I perceive it as excellent experience and an adventure, but at the same time as a good opportunity. Only then I’ll be able to say more specifically what I should work on in my new club.
