Newcomer to our team, Ghanaian midfielder Patrick Kpozo, gave his first interview after signing a contract with the club.

 

- Patrick, tell us about yourself and your football dream.

- The beginning of my football path was difficult. It is well known that in Ghana, in Accra itself, it is difficult to break into football. This applies to even the most elementary things for football, not to mention training in children's sections. I was lucky that one of the managers paid attention to me, thanks to whom I received everything necessary for the development of a football player. Soon he helped me get into FC Inter Ellis, where I was taught and brought up in everything. As for my football dream, it is to reach a very high playing level. This will allow me to play in the top leagues in Europe.

 

- You have signed an agreement with FC Sheriff - are you happy to be a part of the new team?

- I experience only joyful feelings, because I know that Sheriff is a big and ambitious project.

 

- What was the impetus for the fact that you decided to try your hand at the Tiraspol team?

- Sheriff showed itself well in the Champions League, having qualified for the play-offs of the Europa League. Also, the team is constantly fighting for the championship in their country. All this motivated me to sign the agreement. I gladly accepted the invitation to become a part of the football history of the Tiraspol club.

 

- You moved to us from Sweden, where you played for AIK and Östersunds...

- Yes, this is a good period of my career, I got a lot of experience playing both in the domestic championship of Sweden and in European competitions. In some matches I took part, for example, against Panathinaikos of Greece and FC Europa from Gibraltar. In other games was on the bench. Experience has been accumulated. But, most importantly, there is an irresistible desire to show themselves already at the higher stages of the Europa League.

 

- Tell us about your position on the football field, because today the midfielder is a very extensive and versatile position with different roles.

- I like the modern approach to football. I taught myself to act at any point in the field. Ready to perform all the tasks of the coaching staff. Covering a large area of ​​the field is not difficult for me. Playing for defense or attacking is not a problem, I have already demonstrated all this in the matches of the Swedish championship.

 

- How was the first training in the new team?

- As for training, I have never seen anything like it, a lot of things are new to me. In general, I will say that this is the top level of pre-season training.

 

- You already have experience of playing in the Europa League, what can you say about our opponent - FC Braga from Portugal.

- I watched the games between AIK and Braga in the Europa League. Of course, that was in 2017. The Portuguese then passed the Swedes, but they did not show anything special. Now it is, of course, a different team, but I think we can go further in the tournament.
