Tomorrow, the first team of FC Sheriff will play the first test match of the off-season 2020. The opponent will be the Ukrainian second Division - FC Balkany, Zorya.

 

Zorya team was founded in 2007. In 2013, he won the Championship of Odessa region, and in 2014 it made its debut in the Championship of Ukraine among amateurs. The ascension continued at a fast pace. In 2015, Balkany won the Ukrainian Amateur Championship. In the season 2015-16, the debut in the Cup of Ukraine took place, and in  summer of 2016 Balkany made their debut in the Championship of Ukraine under the auspices of the PFL in the second strongest Division.

 

Zorya club is one of the constant sparring partners of the Moldavian teams in the offseason, since the distance from the team’s location to Tiraspol and Chisinau is not very large. With FC Sheriff, the team coached by the former player of our club Andrei Parkhomenko and his brother Dmitri Parkhomenko last met on January 26, 2017 (we take into account the first team). Then our club was stronger 7-0.

 

This season, Balkany played 2 sparring matches and both ended in a 1-1 draw. First, with the second team of Odessa Chernomorets, and then with the first team of the club from the shores of the Black Sea.
