Official statement
Yesterday UEFA decided to ban European Cup matches in Tiraspol. In this regard, FC Sheriff declares the following:
"In this extraordinary situation for us, the opportunity to play in front of our fans is to play at the stadium, which is located near Tiraspol. The first who made advances to the club was the Football Federation of Moldova and personally President Leonid Oleinicenco, who promptly reacted to this news and is doing everything possible so that the Champions League matches take place on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. Thus, the game against FC Zrinjski may take place in Chisinau, at the Zimbru stadium. FC Sheriff thanks FMF and Leonid Oleinicenco for their support and prompt intervention in the situation.
At the same time, we hope that this is a temporary measure, which means that sport, as a social phenomenon, will win, which will allow our team to play at their own stadium this season of European competitions.
The final decision, once made, will be communicated later".
