Mihai Gechev: I want to become a champion and get to the national team
The first interview of Mihai Gechev as a FC Sheriff player:
-Mihai, welcome to FC Sheriff! Are you happy about the signing the contract?
-I am glad to be a part of team. Now I have remarkable feelings. Many young players in our country dream to play in the Tiraspol team. Everybody seek to this. I made it. It is the third club of the National Division with which I signed the contract. Debuted in FC Sfintul Gheorghe. In that season we took the seventh place. Then there was Petrokub, Hincesti with which we finished on the third place. Now I am a part of the big "yellow-black" family. Now I want to win a champion title of Moldova with my new team. It is necessary only to give all efforts for achievement of this result.
-You took the training camp in Belek. What can you tell about this?
-The whole month I trained with the team. Coaches looked at me, estimated. Nothing was clear. Therefore I set a goal to prove myself and show all my strong qualities. At the training camp we played a number of test matches. I managed to score to the goal of Dila from Gori. There were no so many interesting and intensive trainings in my career. The coaching staff worked with all individually including with me. Discussed questions of my action on the field, during the attacking actions. For me everything developed in the best way. I am happy doubly because of this.
-Are goals after coming off the substitute’s bench your calling card?
-No, it just turned out that way. At the end of the match the rivals team was tired, we played quicker, created the moments. I try to act on high speeds. It gives me advantage over defenders.
- You were called to play for the youth team of Moldova, but did not take part in games yet. How do you think, with transfer to the camp of the "yellow-black", will you manage to achieve the place in starting lineup of the national team?
- I will try to prove myself for FC Sheriff. It will be a chance to be noticed by the coach of the national team of the country. Each Moldavian player faces this goal, and I’m not an exception.
- You understand that the competition in our club is very high. Aren’t you afraid to get lost?
-The competition is always growth in career of each player. It is necessary to prove to the head coach that you are better. I am not afraid to get lost as you noted because I am not weaker. If there is a chance to prove on the field, then, believe, I will use it wholly.
