Melli: “We all work to achieve a result”
FC “Sheriff” Spanish defender Melli talked to the official site of the club and told about his life in Tiraspol and about the way he is preparing for matches.
Melli, you have been in the team since August. Please, tell us what you have remembered most of all in FC “Sheriff”? Were your expectations fulfilled?
I have remembered many things. It was a bright period in my career. As for expectations, they are absolutely fulfilled. We have a young and promising team with great atmosphere.
Do you feel in Tiraspol like at home?
Yes, indeed, I do feel in Tiraspol like at home. I have adapted in this town. Most of all I like the monument to Suvorov in the centre of the city.
Have your relatives visited Tiraspol already?
My parents are older people so they have not come yet. As for my girlfriend, she is with me now. Thanks to her I don’t feel lonely here.
In the game with FC “Olimpia” you finished the match after scoring the third ball for our club. How important is it for a central forward to score goals, in your opinion?
Of course, it is important. Whoever scores in our team, it all counts. We all work to achieve a result.
You have recently recovered after an injury. How do you feel on the field?
Yes, I was injured for about 10 days. Now I feel well. I have quickly got back to playing.
How was the spring part of the championship for the team?
Despite one defeat, the beginning of the spring part is a good one. There are some problems because we play on the artificial turf now and not all players can show themselves to the full. In general, everything is fine.
In the next away game FC “Sheriff” is playing against FC “Dinamo-Auto”. A few days ago “Sheriff” had a lopsided victory in the game against “Dinamo-Auto” – 6:0. Do you think this result will ease the team?
No, I don’t think so. It would be a mistake if we had an eased approach to the game. Every game should be played like the last one, so we get maximally prepared.
And how do you prepare for matches?
I work to 100% at the trainings. I recover in the right way and then I concentrate on every game. Every new match should be the most important one for a football player.
What would you say to our supporters before the ending part of the championship?
I want many people to visit our matches, fill up the stadium and support us as they always do. Football is not played without supporters, these things go together.
