The first stage of the Winter Cup kicked off today. FC Sheriff's second team is competing in Group B, where its rivals are Zimbru-2, Oguz, Politehnica-UTM, and Stauceni.

In the opening match of the tournament, Viktor Baryshev's team drew 1-1 with FC Stauceni. According to the competition rules, the winner of the match was decided on penalties, where the opponents proved to be more accurate, winning 5-4.

The second team of FC Sheriff will play its next match in the Winter Cup on February 8 against FC Zimbru-2.
