Каис Ганем: «Это очень важный шаг для меня»
sraeli striker Qais Ganem has become a new player for FC Sheriff. The 27-year-old forward was born in the small town of Zemer, began his career at Hapoel Ramat HaSharon, and has played for a number of Israeli clubs, including Hapoel Be'er Sheva, Hapoel Haifa, and Hapoel Tel Aviv. He made his debut for the Israeli U-21 national team with a brace against Kosovo.
Now Qais will try his hand in Europe for the first time – wearing the yellow and black jersey of Sheriff. We talked to him about his first impressions, dreams, and goals in Tiraspol
– Qais, how do you feel after signing a contract with our club?
– This is a very important step for me. I have joined a renowned club and am happy to continue my career here. I hope that we will quickly find common ground. I want to help Sheriff achieve success and grow as a player.
– Why Sheriff? Had you heard anything about our club before?
– Yes, of course. Although the club is young, it already has an impressive history. I learned the most about Sheriff when you played in the Champions League against Maccabi Haifa. I remember that you won the first match, but the Israelis proved stronger at Sammy Ofer Stadium.
– For many years, you only played in Israel. What does moving to Europe mean to you?
– This is my first European club, and I am very happy that it is Sheriff. I have long dreamed of trying my hand in Europe. Now I want to prove that I can compete successfully here.
– Why did you choose soccer in the first place?
– My childhood was difficult. In order to be able to play, I had to work hard alongside my father. Even after I turned 17, I had to juggle soccer and work. It was a difficult path, but now my family is proud of me.
– Who inspired you along the way?
– Like many others, I am inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo. His diligence, mentality, and incredible willpower resonate with me. Later, I also began to look up to Munas Dabbur, a strong player who has achieved success not only in Israel.
– What are the three main qualities you consider to be yours as a striker?
– Aggression, pressing, and helping in defense.
– Are you ready to compete for a place in the lineup?
– Of course. It all starts with training – you have to prove yourself there. Then the coach will decide who will take the field. The better you work and develop in training, the higher your chances of playing.
– And finally, what goals do you want to achieve with your new club?
– The championship and the Moldovan Cup.
