Brazilian defender of FC Sheriff Heron da Silva - first impression after signing a contract with the club:

 

- Heron, share your emotions after signing the contract...

- I am very happy with the opportunity to play in the football club Sheriff. For the second year I play in Europe, I feel much more comfortable. I intend to help the team, to show my best side.

 

- How long did you think about the offer?

- At the same moment as the invitation came, I immediately made a decision. Everyone knows about the opportunities, achievements and scope of the FC Sheriff project. I want to be involved in this and I will strive for this. The Tiraspol club is always well known. The team tries to achieve good results in the Champions League and Europa League every season.

 

- How did you get into football?

- At an early age, around 7 years old. At school I started to play and train. Upon reaching the age of 19, became a professional football player.

 

- How did things go for you in Denmark?

- It was hard, I had to fight with all my might, but it was worth it. My first year in Europe was good, I was able to show myself, play in the team and get an unforgettable experience. I will not hide - it was difficult to adapt due to the fact that I did not know the language. Here, many people speak English and there are Brazilians in the team who will help me in this aspect.

 

- Are Eurocups something new for you?

- It's a childhood dream for most Brazilians. It's a wonderful dream to play in the Champions League and the Europa League too. With the football club Sheriff there is a great opportunity to play in European competitions. Looking forward to doing this with the whole team. I think I'm ready to play at this level, the previously mentioned experience will certainly help me in the further stages of my career.

 

- How did you meet the head coach Stjepan Tomas and what were your impressions from the first training session?

- The first impression was good. He has a high level of interaction with the team. A competent specialist, there is nothing more to say yet, we will continue to cooperate. The training was top notch. I just returned from vacation, I still have to adapt to new conditions. I think a week and a half will be enough to gain the necessary condition.

 

- Tell us about your role on the football field

- I started in midfield, played in front, like most beginners in Brazil. Over time, you can see in which position the player achieves the best result. When I was 12 years old, my coach told me that I would go far if I played defense. I didn’t get upset, I worked hard and now I don’t regret anything. Today it is simply necessary to play in different positions. My main strengths are defensive, although playing in midfield won't be too difficult for me.

 

- What is your main goal for today?

- I want to quickly adapt, start playing and help the team. I need to show myself as a person and as a footballer. Then a good result will not keep you waiting.
