In an interview with the club's press office, Georgios Athanasiadis commented on the draw with Dinamo Zagreb and the Champions League group stage, and also told about the draw and thanked the fans.

 

- Georgios, congratulations on reaching the Champions League group stage. What were your emotions after the final whistle in the second decisive match against Croatian Dinamo Zagreb?

- I am very happy with what we have achieved after the match in Croatia. We played a great game. Everyone is involved in this success: players, management, coaching staff, all club employees and, of course, our fans and supporters. An amazing story happened - the Moldovan team entered the group stage of the Champions League for the first time. We are all very happy about this event.

 

- Surprised that you were recognized as the "Best Player of the Match" by UEFA?

- The fact that I became the best in the last game gives me more strength and confidence in the upcoming important games. After such awards, let's say, the appetite for games grows very much. I dedicate this award to my loved ones - my wife and my son.

 

- What can you say about the draw - can we achieve something in our group?

- In our group the teams are very strong and it will be difficult to play against them. Although I liked the draw, because we are among very big teams. This will motivate us to give our best and fight in every game for a positive result.

 

- Do you have anything to say to our fans?

- To our fans of the team, I must say a big thank you for supporting us at home games, thank you and for the support when we played away matches. Now they will experience the wonderful moments of our games with some of the strongest teams in the group stage of the tournament.
