Colombian forward Frank Castañeda after signing the contract with the “yellow-blacks” gave the first interview to the official website of our club.

 

- Frank, congratulations on signing the contract with FC Sheriff. What feeleings do you have about this event?

- Thanks a lot. I feel happy. I know that I will play in the most powerful club in Moldova. In September last year, the Tiraspol club became interested in me and from that time I started looking for information about the club and the Championship of Moldova. Team infrastructure is simply a miracle. It motivates and inspires. Can't wait to prove myself. I want to help the team to win another championship and play in the Champions League with dignity.

 

- Tell a little about the formation of your football career.

- I started playing in Colombia, namely, in the country's second division. Then I moved to Slovak team of the first division. I played there for two years. Now I'm here.

 

- Tell a little about Colombian football.

- Playing in Slovakia, I immediately noticed the distinctive features of playing in different countries. Colombians have developed technical arsenal of opportunities to work with the ball. The second is, of course, the speed demonstrated in Colombia. The dynamics of the games is higher. I add that we like to play not in a straightforward manner, but on the contrary - creatively and adroitly in tactical terms.

 

- Are you ready to compete with other players of the attacking line?

- Yes, I'm ready. I am for competition, because thanks to it, the level of a football player increases.

 

- You do not have big anthropometric data. What do you reckon on in your attacking game?

 - My trump card is speed, field vision and dribbling technique. The attack of open spaces is one of my favorite methods of opening the defense of rivals.

 

- How do you assess your opportunity to play in the Champions League for the first time?

- For me, this is a great chance to prove myself. This is the high level that I want to achieve. I will try to do my best for victories in such a prestigious tournament.

 

-Another Colombian joined us, your compatriot William Parra Sinisterra ...

- It is very good. William is the only person with whom I communicate most of all here. Adaptation in the new team will be faster - there is an opportunity to share your thoughts with someone. And on the football field it is important to find quickly, so to say, a common language.
