FC Sheriff Romanian defender Andrei Muresan brought a victory to Zoran Zekic’s team over FC Zimbru.
The central match of Round 9 took place in Chisinau at Zimbru Stadium, Main Arena. At the start of the match Kadu sent a pass to the penalty area and was about to score a goal but Denis Rusu handled the rebound and made it a corner. FC Zimbru responded in a quick counterattack. Alexei Vishniakov came one to one with Serghei Paschenco who made a fantastic save striking the shot aside with his legs. Right before the break FC Sheriff got the right for a free kick in the centre of the pitch. Kadu delivered it right to Andrei Muresan who headed in right in Rusu’s goal.
The second half was started by FC Zimbru. Amani sent a shot from the penalty zone but the ball went close to the goal. In the next episode Dedov made a shot but Serghei Paschenco was there to block the shot. In a few minutes it was very busy at FC Sheriff goal. Amani tried to turn home but Paschenco and Muresan did their job to block the ball. FC Sheriff could stand the pressure from FC Zimbru and possesses the ball creating dangerous attacks. Ricardinho got the ball at the penalty line and sent a firm shot but it lacked a few centimeters to get into the goal.
FC Sheriff could win the game and receive three important points.
