FC Sheriff – FC Zimbru. The final of the Cup of Moldova
In the last match of the season FC Sheriff met FC Zimbru in Chisinau at the full stadium.
The principal combat of two most titled clubs of the country gathered more than nine thousand people. FC Sheriff started more actively creating two dangerous moments within the first ten minutes. In the first episode Denis Rusu played safely, in the second one Ismail Isa shot higher than the goal. On 23rd minute there was a key moment of the match. Luvannor played foul in a dog-fight against Dedov and the referee from Holland Danny MacKelle made him immediately double booked thus leaving FC Sheriff outnumbered. Then Ismail Isa got into the penalty area from where he made a dangerous shot. Denis Rusu was there to make a save. Getting the advantage in number FC Zimbru started playing more challenging. Valentin Furdui made a mistake in the centre of the field, Ademar got the ball and made a dangerous shot – the ball flew close to the post. In the time added to the first half FC Zimbru were able to score, however from an offside position. After a corner shot Kiril Pavleuchek headed in the ball but it flew higher, then Anatoly Ceptine forwarded the ball to the goal being in an offside position.
In five minutes after the start of the second half FC Zimbru opened the scoring. Ademar came through defence centre and sent a pass to Dan Spataru who scored to FC Sheriff. One minute later Ismail Isa lost his chance to balance the scoring. On 59th minute the “yellow-blacks” could finally do that. Marko Stanojevic sent a pass to the penalty area when the ball was headed in by the substituted Juninho Potiguar. However FC Zimbru took the lead again. After a corner shot the ball rebounded to Pavleuchek whose shot got into the post, then Marko Stanojevic was trying to block but he killed the ball and it got right to the goal. But right after that FC Sheriff could create a good moment. Vadim Pairelli shot at the goal and the ball was about to get in the far corner but Rusu saved his team. On 77th minute FC Zimbru scored another goal. Getting the ball in the penalty shot line Yulian Erkhan made a shot, the ball touched the foot of Stanojevic again and got into the goal. Gathering all strength FC Sheriff created a dangerous shot at the corner but Marcel Metoua could not head in the ball from the close distance.
The Cup of Moldova was received by FC Zimbru. In the match for the Super cup of Moldova before the start of the new season FC Sheriff and FC Zimbru will meet again but this time in Tiraspol.
