FC “Sheriff” had its first match in spring against FC “Speranca” in the Championship of Moldova.
The game started with attacks by FC “Sheriff” players. Within 15 minutes Luvannor and Ricardinho had a chance to score but the ball flew near the post. Their only chance was lost by FC “Speranca” after Paireli’s mistake when Veaceslav Sofroni was not quick enough to use the imprecise pass. On 32nd minute Jhulliam sent the ball into the goalkeeper which hit the post and a corner shot was awarded. At the end of the first half Marcel Metoua could score twice within one minute. At first Metoua headed the ball in the upper corner but Georgy Tonu stroke aside. Then Metoua hit under the crossbar with his foot but FC “Speranca” goalkeeper made another good save.
On 53rd minute FC “Sheriff” achieved his goal. After a corner shot Serghei Matei cleared the ball and it got on the foot of Ricardinho who sent the ball to the upper V. In ten minutes Igor Dima made a firm shot in the low corner but Georgy Tonu made a save and a corner shot was awarded. Luvannor shot at the close corner in a beautiful combination but the ball hit the post. Ismail Isa could double the scoring but after getting in the penalty area he was pushed. While falling he made a short-range shot but Tonu made another good save. So the match finished by the score 1:0 with FC “Sheriff” as a winner.
Next Saturday the champion of Moldova plays against FC “Dinamo-Auto” at the roofed stadium of Sports Complex “Sheriff”.
