FC Sheriff – FC Milsami (2:0)
Sheriff gained an important victory over Milsami after scoring one goal in each half.
The match was intense and spectacular, both teams were active, no one wanted to concede. The visiting team carried out a dangerous attack within the first seconds but Sheriff defenders did their job well. Jo Santos scored an opener on 6th minute after playing one-two with Radu Ginsari. Milsami defender Artiom Rakhmanov deflected a goal into his own net. Sheriff had more other close chances within the entire half. Galesic, Balima, Ginsari, Subotic had their chances but every time Radu Mitu was there to make a save.
When the break was over Sheriff kept on their attack. Jo got the ball close to the box and sent a quick shot – Mitu made a save. Milsami responded when Zarichniuk sent a long-ranged shot and the ball found Jabbie’s foot nearly got into the goal. Ten minutes before the end Josip Ivancic outplayed the defender, came one on one but could not overplay the goalkeeper. Soon the home team doubled the scoring when Jo sent a pass to Benjamin Balima who turned it home – 2:0! In the additional time Jabbie made a shot, however Mitu showed a fantastic save again. Ivancic was to score but he did not reach the ball.
Sheriff continues fighting for the head title with this victory. The match between Dacia and Petrocub was abandoned on 57th minute when Petrocub players left the field due to discontent of refereeing. By that moment Dacia was winning 1:0. Petrocub will probably get forfeit defeat. Zimbru takes the third position with their victory over Dinamo-Auto in Chisinau (2:1).
