Dmitri Stajila: “We would like to make our supporters happy”
The goalkeeper of “Sheriff” Dmitri Stajila gave an interview for the club’s official site:
Yesterday “Sheriff” played with “Dinamo-Auto” and despite our win the game was not an easy one for our team…
The most important thing is that we achieved the result. We were not very lucky in the first half because we could not score. We had three good chances but, unfortunately, we did not convert them. In the second half we took the game under our control; we were able to score and to get three points which is very important.
It seems to many people that “Sheriff” plays two different halves in the last matches. What can you say about that?
I would not say that we play the first half worse than the second one. In the match with “Academia” and “Speranta” we could achieve the result already in the first half. As for the match against “Dinamo-Auto”, they acted well on the defensive in the first half. So we had to control the ball in the center of the field, rather than play in attacking football.
You defend the gate of “Sheriff” almost in every match. Is there a team that surprised or disappointed you?
It seems to me that in this season the Championship is more interesting. The teams which are in the first places of the standings goalong. It makes us glad and it says that the level of the Moldavian Championship goes up. Who surprised me? Probably, it is “Veris” because the team performs well. I don’t remember such a team that went up from the Division A to the National Division and performed so fine. “Costuleni” are playing well in this season and taking points from strong teams. I will not talk about “Dacia”, “Milsami”, “Zimbru” and FC “Tiraspol” who are our traditional rivals. Despite all that we should not forget about the rest of the teams.
There is going to be an important match with “Tromsø” on their territory. Did you, as a goalkeeper, have the information on the rival’s strong sides? Did you see the play of Norwegian goalkeepers?
I read in the news that “Tromsø” is not doing very well in the Championship. However, the statistics of home matches speaks for the Norwegians. They score a lot of goals at home but they often concede goals too. I think we have good chances to win. It is very important for us to win! As the match approaches goalkeepers and the team in general will have a definite discussion on our rival, on each player individually.
Our team is in an interesting group and “Sheriff” is able to get out of the group…
As I said, we have good chances to get out of the group. We must be concentrated to the maximum, try our best and we will have luck. We want to make our supporters and us happy by getting out of the group. “Tottenham” is for sure a favorite. It will be difficult on the away match but at home we can deliver a battle and take points from this big-name team. We had already succeeded in surprising everyone when we played with “Dinamo” from Kiev and “Twente”. Why cannot we do the same with “Tottenham”?
