Day 7. Mihai Stochita interview
Today there have been morning training session, after which we had a conversation with FC Sheriff head coach Mihai Stochita.
Mr. Stochita, say couple of words about the second part of the training camp.
It is not easy for us, players are tired and it can be seen during the training sessions and games, and this is normal. Anyway, I'm happy. Even despite our loss in the last game with the score 0-1, we played better than our opponents. We had many opportunities, but didn't score. This is our weak point - we don't score many goals. Also our goalkeepers make many mistakes during the training camp. It's a problem, but time is needed to solve it. They are young.
Are you satisfied with conditions?
Yes, everything is good, weather is fine to play football, but the pitches lack quality a little, because here there are a lot of teams who work hard.
How can you evaluate our team's game against Jagodina?
We didn't play on our usual level, but still played better than them. It's very important. Before the game I told my players that it will be good to win to erase from memory the loss in the match with Dinamo Zagreb, because in the next season we can come across some team from former Jugoslavia. It's very important to let the player feel that we can play better than them. Unfortunately we couldn't score and made some mistakes in defense, that resulted in conceded goal. It's football.
And still, what do you think is the main reason for the loss?
First of all the reason is that we lost a lot of opportunities. Also our goalkeepers play is unstable for now. Probably there is some psychological problem.
Training camp is going on and we are looking forward to the next match. What can you say about the Danish team?
It is a very good team, but I didn't see them play here. I watched many other teams during the training camp, especially those who will become our opponents - Volyn and Dinamo. It will be a strong game. I'm glad because only playing in such games our youngsters can level up. It's the only reason why I don't want to play against weak teams who are easy to beat. It's better to play against strong teams of the high level, even if we don't win, because we get used to playing on the high level.
