Danil Ankudinov: "I want to grow professionally at FC Sheriff"
Kazakh rookie of our team Danil Ankudinov about the Spanish school of tasks and expectations from moving to FC Sheriff:
- Danil, congratulations on signing the contract with FC Sheriff.
- Thank you very much, I am very glad that I signed a professional contract for the first time. A dream come true, I dreamed about it for a long time. It's cool to be part of this team at 18. Getting a chance to shine at a Champions League club is worth much. A big project in terms of training football players, a chic base. Unique conditions to grow as a player. I want to show my gratitude to the club on the football field in every game.
- You have been in Spain since childhood, tell us how your youth career developed there?
- At the age of 10 I moved to the Canary Islands. In Tenerife I played for amateur teams. At the age of 14, I got into Marcet, an academy in Barcelona. Having played the season there, then got a branch of FC Real Zaragoza - Casablanca U-19. I was called to play for the national teams of Kazakhstan in the age categories under 17, 18 and 19.
- How would you characterize the Spanish model of educating young players, and is there anything to compare with?
- Well, if we compare it in terms of level, then only with the academy of FC Kairat. This is the strongest academy in Kazakhstan. They teach according to German football standards, excellent conditions for growth. In Spain, of course, there are more academies, the level is higher, because the level of football in general in the country is much higher than in Kazakhstan. As for the Spanish style, they like to have the ball in one or two touches. High technique of work with the ball and lack of football selfishness.
- How is the preparation for the upcoming season going?
- To be honest, I was immediately delighted with the viewing. Recently I saw these players on TV in the Champions League, and now I train with them, and even with the official balls of the Europa League. When I played for FC Rodina Moscow, a coach worked with us there, who talked a lot about FC Sheriff - Alexander Laktionov. Since then, I started to follow the “yellow-blacks” in European competition.
- Have you already set goals for yourself?
- The first task has already been completed - I was selected for the team. Next, I need to prepare well in order to get a chance at least for the minimum playing time in the Championship of Moldova. I believe in the team and the club, I want to grow as a player here.
