Championship in Division A has concluded
Today FC Sheriff youth team has played in the final match of the transitional season 2017 in Division A. Let us remind that the tournament of 2017 has started this summer. As follows from the Championship’s Regulations, teams are devided into two groups after the first round robin according to the number of points in the tournament’s table.
In the final game on matchday 18, Sheriff Football Academy’s side beat away 2-1 FC Grănicerul from Glodeni.
The first opener came only in the 68th minute. The Yellow-Blacks were awarded a penalty converted by Dmitry Semirov. Ten minutes later, the hosts won it back 1-1 with the efforts of Alexander Grab. Evgenui Rebenja delivered a winning goal into Denis Christoforovic’s net in the dying minutes of the game.
Thus, Luka Pavlovic’s side sealed the runners-up spot in the Championship with 38 points for 17 games. We will mention that both games against the winner of the tournament FC Viktoria, Cishinau, our youth team played away.
Eugeniu Rebenja and Marin Căruntu shared the second place in the list of the tournament top scorers. They both have excelled 15 times each. Sheriff-2 have become the highest scoring team in the Championship. Sheriff Football Academy’s side have shot 56 goals on target with the average number of 3,29 goals per game.
